Name: Light Yagami
Age: 17
Career/Occupation: To-Ou University Student
Ethnicity: Japanese
Personality: An extremely intelligent yet bored young man; confident in his own sense of logic and how clever he is in regards to others. He is frustrated by the lack of justice in the world, slowly loosing his faith in the justice system. He is a very polite, charming young man toward anyone, always putting on the act of being a very sociable well-liked individual. Very passionate about the things he believes in, developing a rather arrogant personality sense things seem to come far too easily for him and has a tendency to underestimate all others.
History: Light grew up in what one would call a 'normal' household. Loving mother, hardworking father, cute little sister. But Light was the shining star in the Yagami household; even from a young age he showed vast signs of intelligence far beyond his age. His family did everything they could to support Light along the way. With Light's superior looks and intelligence, not to mention his 'sweet personality' he was quick to become popular among his peers. He never made friends, quickly growing bored with the lack or challenge with the average teenagers, quickly surpassing any instructor he came into contact with in school. He still however kept up the appearance of making plenty of friends, even going as far as having a 'girlfriend' or two even though he really had no interest in the subject of dating.
When he made his way through high school at the Daikoku Private Academy, he had completely lost his passion for things around him, tiring of constantly surpassing every expectation and everyone around him. He passed all his simple classes with flying colors, talked with his dull, predictable classmates then went home to study things he had already memorized. Naturally growing with a strong faith in the Justice system, considering his fathers dedicated position on the NPA. Even while he found himself assisting his father with cases throughout high school, his faith in the justice system slowly started to disappear as the years went by of constantly watching the corruption the world was littered with, his disgust only seeming to grown when he started to hear of the Butcher. Seeming to leave no evidence behind as the body count grew. But it was what inspired him in his wish to follow in his fathers footsteps and become a detective as well, if only for the hope that he would someday run into something that would challenge his superior intellect.
Appearance: Auburn hair always constantly styled to stay perfectly in place, sharp calculating amber colored eyes; skin tanned naturally with his Asian heritage and rounded, almost cherubic face and thin, but slightly built body from his tennis activities and a naturally slim frame. He stands at 5'10", having more of a formal look when it came to the clothing he wears constantly appearing professional.

The sun was bright and hot as it sank lower in the vivid afternoon sky as he walked through the campus, no sense of urgency in his step. Nothing here was a challenge to his superior intellect, it all seemed even duller in comparison to those few moments he had spent with L. It was hard to believe the man was so accomplished by looking at him, with look alone he could pass for someone that would be homeless. But that mind that constantly questioned Light's innocence even without evidence...it was exhilarating. To think he had almost left the Death Note alone in the courtyard that day...
It was quiet for the weekday, cars roared past now and again, students scattering to go about their daily lives. He pocketed a hand in his slacks and let his gaze drift, amber eyes running over his many nameless peers. There were many things weighing heavily on the youth's mind. But of course none of it was anything to worry about, there was no denying his logic. Nothing would stop him from accomplishing his goal....a few innocents would have to be sacrificed along the way, but it was all necessary for the greater good. As long as no one got in his way...
L would continue to challenge God, that much was evident about the man, Light would give the man no reason to point a finger at him with absolute certainty. He was certain he would manage to make his way into the Task Force set out to catch him, he needed to be there and it would make sense for L to take on this. It would give the detective every chance to keep a eye on Light, interrogate him every chance he got. But Light was prepared, always several steps ahead.
Slender fingers moved to pull the shoulder bag more tightly to his body, eyes drifting to the abnormally quiet shinigami that followed so closely behind him. The sight of the ever-present grin was the only thing that met his gaze; with a careless inward shrug the youth returned his attention outward once more. His mind was constantly moving, the train of thought never coming to an end as he rushed through countless plans and possible outcomes to the goal he had set for this world. But it all came screeching to a halt when he was addressed by the monotonous voice.
The voice was placed immediately in his mind's eye. His steady steps immediately faltered and he found himself turning to face the one man that dared to oppose him. Mask flashed into one of mild surprise at the sudden appearance of the man, "Ryuuga?" Ridiculous. Did he honestly think that was going to save him? Eyes rolled inwardly at the thought. His lips immediately pulled into a warm smile at the request, stepping forward to engage this man without hesitation. "Yes of course I have the time. But I have to admit..." He trailed off for a moment, chuckling softly under his breath as a elegant brow raised high on his forehead. "I am surprised to see you again so soon. What can I do for you?"
